
Seawater Intake Plant 1

Stream of Service:
Seawater Intake Plant 1 (SWIP 1) processes and delivers chlorinated seawater – free of any particles larger than 3mm – to customer premises through customer pump bays or Majis’ cooling water network.
Main Features:
The pumping station has ten revolving bar and band screens in each distribution bay. Each of the screen sets comprises one 30mm rake screen and one 3mm revolving band screen. It includes an electro-chlorination plant that is designed for chlorine generation of 700 kg/hour, with a concentration of sodium hypochlorite of 2.0 mg chlorine/kg, composed of eight skids and three electrolyzers.

Stream of Service:
Seawater Intake Plant 2 (SWIP 2) processes and delivers chlorinated seawater – free of any particles larger than 3mm – to customer premises through customer pump bays or Majis’ cooling water network. The plant works as an extension to SWIP 1 with a similar configuration.

The pumping station has ten revolving bar and band screens in each distribution bay. Each of the screen sets comprises one 30mm rake screen and one 3mm revolving band screen. It includes an electro-chlorination plant that is designed for a capacity of chlorine generation of 625 kg/hour, with a concentration of sodium hypochlorite of 2.0 mg chlorine/kg, composed of eight skids and three electrolyzers.

Reverse Osmosis Plant
Location: Sohar, Oman
Stream of Service:
The Reverse Osmosis Plant (ROP) provides process water of very low Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) up to 25ppm within Sohar Industrial Port Area, Freezone and Phase 7 of Sohar Industrial Estate. It also serves the stream of drinking water production for the same customer zones.
Main Features:
The ROP is designed to produce 12,000 cum/day of industrial process water and 8,000 m3/day of drinking water. The plant operates with an available power supply of 33 kV/6.6 kV sub-station and 50 Hz provided by MAJAN.
The unique design of the plant results in low power consumption of 3.8-4.2 kW/m3 and operates on parameters of the TDS range of 45,000 ppm and SDI range of 35. The plant fully complies with Oman’s environmental laws and regulations.
The ROP employs a unique Micro-Filtration process as pre-treatment and is fowled with a two-pass RO system.

Central Effluent Treatment and Recycling Plant

Our Central Effluent Treatment and Recycling Plant (CETRP) provides process water of very low Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) up to 25ppm within Sohar Industrial Port Area, Freezone and Phase 7 of Sohar Industrial Estate.
Main Features:
CETRP is designed to collect, treat and recycle industrial effluent and domestic wastewater from the tenants of Sohar Port & Freezone. This water is then used to produce process water.
The plant is connected to a substantial collection of networks that are equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring systems to ensure proper control in case of off-specification effluent discharges. The plant comprises two set-up phases, each with a capacity of 10,000 m3/day resulting in a total capacity of 20MLD.
