Hilal Ali Al Kharusi
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Hilal Ali Al Kharusi started his career with Petroleum Development Oman and Shell international managing number of energy projects across Middle East, CIS, Africa and Russia. Prior to joining OQ, Hilal was the Executive Vice-President for Emerging Businesses at Oman Oil Company. Al Kharusi serves as Board Chairman in Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) and Chairman of Oman Sustainable Water Services (OSWS). Hilal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences/Economic Geography in 1999 and an MBA in 2007 from the UK.


Ahmed Tufail Al RahmanI

Ahmed Tufail Al RahmanI holds a FCCA – Fellow Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) (2002) , CGMA – Global Chartered Management Accountant (US) (2013), CPA – US Certified Public Accountant (USA) (2007) CIMA, Associate Chartered Management Accountant (UK) (2013), CAIA – Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (USA) (2011) and Chartered Financial Analyst- Level III Candidate (USA). Currently he is working on Group Chief Financial Officer of Electricity Holding Company (Nama) overseeing the entire regulated electricity sector of Oman.

Abdullah Al Hashimi
Board Member
Abdullah Al Hashimi is a civil engineer with a master degree in construction management. His present assignment is the challenging position of director of the Centralized Utility Company at Duqm Special Economic Zone. Prior to this he was Oman Wastewater Company’s (Haya Water) General Manager Projects, where he developed and managed the project department from its early inception to its present day operation. Earlier he worked with the Petroleum Development Oman Company (PDO) and the Royal Oman Police, in various positions, including construction management of infrastructure and building projects, strategic development and business model validation.

Omar Bahram
Board Member
Omar Bahram is the Acting Legal Advisor at Oman Investment Authority (previously the State General Reserve Fund) since October 2015. He leads the main legal and commercial side of private equity transactions in mining, agriculture, infrastructure, and ports & logistics along with all local transactions. He serves on the Board of Oman Infrastructure Investment Management SAOC (Rakiza), and is a nominated observer on the Board of Kenmare Resources PLC. Omar Bahram holds an LLB in law and a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice.

Aflah Al Lawati
Board Member
Aflah Al Lawati currently holds the position of Business Partner to Chief Executive, Commercial since August 2019 with a focus on providing support to manage the day to day business activities along with managing and executing the strategic initiatives within OQ. Previously Treasury Manager in Oman Oil Company. Mr Al Lawati holds a BSc Bachelor of Commerce, Finance from the University of Northern British Columbia, Prince George, BC, Canada and a professional qualification in Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK.
