Mr. Abdullah Al Hashimi
Mr. Abdullah Al Hashimi is a civil engineer with a master’s degree in Construction Management. He has a wide range of experience in the development, implementation and management of new projects within the public sector.
He is currently the Director of the Centralized Utility Company at Duqm Special Economic Zone, a major integrated economic zone that spans over 2,000 sq km, accommodating a port, dry dock and petrochemical complex that includes a refinery.
The company was established to provide centralised utilities to the industrial and petrochemical zones of Duqm. Prior to this, Mr. Al Hashimi was the General Manager at Projects of Oman Wastewater Company (Haya Water), where he developed and managed the Projects Department from its early inception and was responsible for the development, implementation and management of multi-million dollar wastewater projects including treatment plants, pumping stations and networks.
Previously, Mr. Al Hashimi worked with the Petroleum Development Oman Company (PDO) and the Royal Oman Police, responsible for various functions, including managing the construction of infrastructure and building projects, as well as strategic development and business model validation.
Mr. Al Hashimi is also the Chairman of Majan Electricity Company, one of the leading electricity distribution companies in Oman and an independent board member at Utico, a UAE-based utility company.
